Description
Bender Bending Rodríguez serves up another round of robotic mischief in the Futurama Bender Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure #1757 - Specialty Series. The Planet Express troublemaker sports his familiar metallic-gray body, cylindrical head, protruding antenna, and unmistakable gritted teeth. Depicted in a burping pose, Bender captures the unapologetic attitude and outrageous behavior that have made him a standout character in Futurama. This Specialty Series edition brings the wisecracking robot's irreverent personality into Funko's collectible lineup, with a separately produced glow-in-the-dark Chase variation.
Introduced when Futurama premiered in 1999, Bender is a bending-unit robot built by Mom's Friendly Robot Company who becomes one of the most unpredictable members of the Planet Express delivery crew. Voiced by John DiMaggio, Bender befriends Philip J. Fry and joins forces with Leela, Professor Farnsworth, and their eccentric coworkers on adventures throughout the 31st century. His enthusiasm for alcohol, cigars, gambling, and petty theft frequently creates chaos, while his unlikely friendship with Fry provides some of the series' most memorable moments. Created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, Futurama uses Bender's shameless selfishness and occasional flashes of loyalty to deliver its distinctive blend of science-fiction satire and character-driven comedy.
