Description
Psylocke prepares to strike with her psychic weaponry in the X-Men '97 Psylocke (Wave 4) Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure #1612. Inspired by Marvel Animation's X-Men '97, this collectible features the mutant warrior with flowing purple hair, a blue combat bodysuit, matching boots, and red sash accents at her waist. She holds a katana diagonally across her body, while translucent pink psychic energy surrounds one hand, bringing her telepathic abilities into the figure's design. Her low fighting stance and carefully positioned weapon emphasize the combination of psychic power and martial arts that defines Psylocke. Standing approximately 3.9 inches tall, this Wave 4 release adds a formidable mutant fighter to Funko's X-Men '97 collection.
Psylocke has one of the most intricate histories in Marvel Comics, beginning with the introduction of Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock in Captain Britain #8 (1976), written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Herb Trimpe. Originally introduced as the twin sister of Captain Britain, Betsy developed powerful telepathic abilities and eventually joined the X-Men. Her later history became intertwined with the Japanese assassin Kwannon, creating a complicated identity storyline that shaped both characters for decades. Psylocke's signature psychic weaponry, exceptional combat training, and ability to confront enemies on both physical and mental battlefields have established her as a formidable presence in the mutant universe. Her distinctive combination of disciplined martial arts and telepathic power remains central to the character's enduring popularity.
